Cultural Opportunities
Arts at Michigan introduces students to the University’s rich performing arts heritage. Arts at Michigan offers programs and activities to actively engage undergraduate students in the arts. Popular programs include “Passport to the Arts,” “Art Outta Town,” and “Artscapade.” Students (and parents) can also sign up for an e-mail newsletter about campus arts events.
University of Michigan students should also take advantage of the University Musical Society, which brings world-renowned artists and performers to Ann Arbor each year. In addition the U-M’s own School of Music, Theatre and Dance offers numerous student productions during the school year.
The University of Michigan is home to a number of museums and galleries. Most are free to students.
Beyond the University’s campus, cultural opportunities abound in the greater Ann Arbor area. From the Ann Arbor Civic Theater and the Performance Network, to the Hands-On Museum and the Ann Arbor Arts Center, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
We hope you will also take advantage of Michigan’s cultural offerings when you visit your son or daughter on campus. No matter when you visit, you are sure to find many performances, exhibits, dance recitals, and much more.
