University of Michigan Parent Calendar & Handbook

Each year, the Office of New Student Programs publishes the University of Michigan Parent Calendar and Handbook. This 12-month, August-to-August calendar outlines what you can expect during your student’s first year, and provides important dates and contact information for University departments.

If you are the parent of an incoming freshman, you will automatically receive a copy of this Calendar and Handbook if you attend the Parent and Family Orientation. If you do not attend Parent and Family Orientation, a copy of the calendar will be mailed to the student’s permanent address in late August.

If you are a parent of an upper-level student and would like a copy of the current calendar, you can purchase one for $10 as part of the Parents & Family Weekend registration. If you do not plan to attend Parents & Family Weekend, but would like to purchase a calendar, please contact the Office of New Student Programs at (734) 764-6413 or email onsp@umich.edu.
